Birthday Boy at Tropi

 Thursday 16 February

The day began with John opening the (few because there could be more on our doormat at home) cards and jigsaw over breakfast.  Lots of greetings came by messages, so he was very happy.

There aren't many geocaches around here, but there was one that was within cycling distance, so we went for that - found it hanging behind a tree trunk.

Some of the local architecture leaves a lot to be desired.

But there are a few abandoned orange trees around.
I went to scrump at this one, but they are not ripe enough yet....

After lunch we'd invited our friends to come for a walk along the seafront to one of the cafes that we went in a few days ago.  We had a drink together then walked back to eat the cake that I'd frozen from the Consum supermarket.  We were so busy cutting it and eating it, that I realised I hadn't taken a photo!  But it was actually a Valentine chocolate cake in the shape of a heart! and very tasty.

Word had got around that this evening in the campsite restaurant there was to be a bit of entertainment with Tom singing from 8 o'clock.  We've had a few chats with Tom because his pitch backs onto ours and our water pipe is plumbed into the same pod. Camping friends do note that our pitch is complete with our own water, waste water hole as well as electricity for €20.50 a night!!  Anyway Tom is a super singer and guitar strummer and sang all those songs from our past - the '60s.

A very happy evening with Tom still singing after 10 when a lot of people had left, but there were the dancers still in full swing!
