Spain - first stop Castelldefels

 Monday 30 January

Really enjoying this wall-to-wall sunshine - and it's getting warmer.  Beautiful views of the mountains on the edge of the Pyrenees as we are about to enter Spain.

John navigated the motorways around Barcelona with ease - well he was a bit stressed, but that was because we had become accustomed to hardly any traffic and this was non-stop lorries in all directions.

We've come to Camping Estrella de Mar in Castelldefels, SW of Barcelona.  We stayed here in January 2020 to be able to visit the city by bus which was so memorable, that we've decided to do that again.  But this afternoon was for chilling out on our pitch, joined by this little cat.  He/she basked in the sun beside us for a while and was soon up on my empty chair when I got up for a few moments!

At first glance my chair looks perfectly cushioned, but in fact it is a mish-mash of my passenger seat cushions and a pillow.  Reason?  Although we have 2 frames with us, the blue cushions are in our garage back home .....  don't ask .....

Tuesday 31 January

This campsite comes equipped with a van-washing area - so John got to work this morning.  He'd had a big boys breakfast, so used some of the extra energy.

Later we both used lots of energy walking the length of our local seafront along the wide prom bordered with palm trees and the occasional cafe or restaurant.
This is quite a smart town, with some lovely-looking apartments.

A square of palms with a lop-sided concrete block.

The block from the other side - looks like a good Rock Choir performance area to me.

Two old codgers having a cup of tea.

An interesting sundial.  A (very) small prize for the correct time shown. (Click to make larger pic)
Left this picture till last because we feel we should issue a warning to our readers, that after tomorrow (visit to Barcelona) this blog will become full of annoyingly blue skies, huge sandy beaches and a calm sea, but there might be occasional visits to cafes and restaurants and plenty of walking, so do watch this space ....
But so far, many thanks for the comments and messages.  We do love to hear from you.
