Tropicana - changeable weather!

 Sunday 5 February

The warmest morning so far - breakfast in the garden.

We joined our Church service on Zoom, then walked down to our site restaurant for lunch.  Excellent value (although higher prices than 3 years ago - expected really) with 3 courses plus coffee/tea for 15€.  Our starters were John: Broken egg with ham and artichokes.  Ann: Mushroom canelloni.

Mains.  Ann: Crispy cod with sauce + mash underneat and peas.
John:  Pork, chips plus chilli sauce.  We both had creme brulee for pud.
We needed a walk after all that, so strolled up the lanes to the tree with a geocache that we found yesterday, but didn't have the TB with us to leave.  A TB is a travel bug that are sometimes placed in a cache for another visitor to pick up and move on to another one.  We found this 'Switzerland' one back home recently, so have now placed it here - wonder where it will go next?  We can follow it's movements on the website.

Back at the site, thought we should start picturing some of the interesting decorative features.  Lots of these scantily dressed figures around...

Large cages with colourful birds - not sure if they squark a lot as they are nowhere near us ...

At the end of each row, there is a marker board with a letter and a picture - as you can see we are in Q Cheese!

As we got back home, our next-door neighbours were out, but their little dog was sitting patiently waiting for them to come back.  Fortunately for us, he's not a barker.

Monday 6 February

We had seen the forecast, so we knew it was coming .... woke up to the sound of rain on the roof.  It could have been a dreary morning, but it wasn't because our Swiss friends came to see us before they moved on further south (in the hope of finding the sun again).  We have been blessed to meet with these lovely young people and their cute baby boy.  They have promised to send us photos of Noe as he grows and we hope to meet again one day.

Sometimes it's good to just do a puzzle/read/drink coffee and tea and wait for the rain to stop.  By 2 o'clock it did, so we had a brisk walk along the beach watching the waves.  Quite different pictures of our once-calm Mediterranean!  And the sky - this can't be the same beach....

We then called in to see another couple of friends we have made - in fact we both remembered each other from 2020 - Karen and Steve - for a cup of tea and a chat.  So despite the grey skies, we've had another great day.  Unfortunately, we are in for a couple more days like this, but we hope to take the van out for a run tomorrow ... we shall see.

  1. Sorry to hear about the rain in Spain ( clearly not mainly on the plain on this occasion!)We have bright blue skies and sunshine here, though accompanied by a sharp fall in temperature! Fortunately it's mainly overnight and first thing in the morning, and we have been nice and snug under the quilted bedspread made by Helen in the pandemic, raffled for Horsham Matters and we won the winning ticket!
We're off to the West country on Friday, Tilly seemed pleased to hear this though disappointed that Uncles Andy and Al would not be coming too! She will have to wait until Easter to see them!
Hope the rain clears up for you soon and you can do some long walks, you will need to after those 3 course meals!! xx
