Neufchatel-en-Bray - Merlimont Plage
Sunday 5 March
Came today from near Le Mans to our often frequently Neufchatel-en-Bray. It's been quite a miserable cold day, so didn't stop by the Seine as planned. Our afternoon walk took us along the old railway line path and John climbed into this bush to find a geocache that we've missed on previous visits!
Monday 6 March
Not much to show for today either ..... Travelled to Merlimont in sunshine, but that had all gone by the time we got here - replaced by very blustery wind! But of course, we had to have our walk! We couldn't stay on the sea-front very long - even nearly blew my bobble hat off - but the huge beach still looks inviting. Wonder why there's nobody on it .... !
So we walked all around the town instead, up and down residential roads, admiring some houses and wondering how some remain upright, passing the church
and the Boulangerie that we plan to visit in the morning.
So rather than end this blog on a dreary note of grey sky and cold wind , here's a photo of a jigsaw puzzle we finished last night....
So this adventure comes to an end tomorrow with us catching the 11.20 Eurotunnel back to our lovely Kent and Sussex. Thank you for being our faithful blog-watchers this time. We have enjoyed reading your comments, WhatsApps and emails. No plans yet for our next trip, but we trust there will be at least one later in the year. For now, we are looking forward to seeing our daffodils ....

You have picked a cold day to come home, but the good news is that the temperature will be in double figures by Sunday! The daffodils are definitely out and the green shoots of the wild garlic can be seen emerging by the stream.
ReplyDeleteRegardless of the weather, we are shrouded in darkness here as we have had scaffolding on the house since Saturday. Our solar panel team are arriving this morning. I hope they're wearing their thermals as it's going to be chilly on the roof!
Have a safe journey today and we look forward to seeing you again soon.xx
